This is the story of how I died.

이 이야기는 내가 어떻게 죽었는지에 대한 것이랍니다.
Don't worry, this is actually a very fun story. 

걱정하지 마세요. 실제로는 재미있는 이야기예요.
And the truth is, it isn't even mine. 

그리고 사실을 말하자면, 제 이야기도 아니고요.
This is the story of a girl named, Rapunzel. 

이 이야기는 라푼젤이라는 이름을 가진 소녀의 이야기예요.
And it starts, with the sun. 

그리고 이 이야기는 태양화 함께 시작되죠.
Now, once upon a time, 

자 그럼, 옛날에,
a single drop of sunlight fell from the heavens. 

천국에서 태양 빛의 작은 조각이 떨어졌어요.
And from this small drop of sun, grew a magic, golden flower.
그리고 이 태양 빛의 작은 조각으로부터 마법의 황금빛 꽃이 자라나죠.
It had the ability to heal the sick and injured. 

이것은 병들거나 다친 사람들을 고칠 수 있는 능력이 있답니다.
Oh, you see that old woman, over there? 

오, 저기 늙은 여인 보이나요?
You might want to remember her. 

저 여자를 기억하는 것을 좋을 거예요.
She's kind of important. 

그녀는 좀 중요한 인물이거든요.
Well, centuries passed, 

흠, 수백년이 지났고,
and a hop skip and a boat ride away, 

배를 타고 가면 바로 다다를 수 있는 저 건녀편에
there grew a kingdom. 

왕국이 생겨났죠.
The kingdom was ruled by a beloved king and Queen. 

그 왕국은 백성들에게 사랑받는 왕과 왕비가 다스리고 있었죠.
And the Queen...well,

she was about to have a baby. 

그녀는 곧 출산을 앞두고 있었죠.
But she got sick. Really sick. 

하지만 그녀는 병에 걸렸어요. 정말 위독한 병에.
She was running out of time. 

그녀는 시간이 얼마 남지 않았어요.
And that's when people usually start to look for a miracle. 

그리고 그때 사람들은 보통 기적을 찾기 시작하죠.
Or, in this case, a magic golden flower. 

혹은 지금 같은 경우엔, 마법의 황금 꽃을 찾는 거죠.
Ah, I told you she'd be important. 

아, 이 여자가 중요할 거라고 내가 말했죠.
You see, instead of sharing the sun's gift, this woman, Mother Gothel,

hoarded its healing power

and used it to keep herself young for hundreds of years.

The magic of the golden flower healed the queen.

A healthy baby girl, a Princess was born with beautiful golden hair.
건강한 여자 아기, 아름다운 금발을 가진 공주가 태어났어요.
I'll give you a hint. That's Rapunzel. 

힌트를 하나 드릴게요. 그녀가 바로 라푼젤이에요.
To celebrate her birth, 

그녀의 탄생을 축하하기 위해서
the King and Queen launched a flying lantern into the sky. 

왕과 왕비는 하늘 위로 날아오르는 등불을 쏘아 올렸어요.
And for that one moment, everything was perfect. 

그 한순간동안은 모든 것이 완벽했죠.
And then that moment ended. 

그리고는 바로 그 순간이 끝나버렸답니다.
Flower gleam and glow. 

꽃이여 반짝이며 빛나라.
Let your power shine. 

너의 힘이 빛나게 하라.
Make the clock rever... HUH! 

시간을 거꾸로 되돌리게 만들... 어!
Gothel broke into the castle, stole the child, 

고텔이 성으로 무단침입해서 아이를 훔쳤어요.
and just like that...gone. 

그리고 그냥 그렇게 사라지고 말았죠.
The kingdom searched and searched. 

온 나라가 다 찾아다니고 또 찾아다녔어요.
but they could not find the princess. 

그러나 그들은 공주를 찾을 수 없었답니다.
For deep within in the forest, in a hidden tower,

왜냐하면, 숲속 깊은 곳, 숨겨진 탑 안에서
Gothel raised the child as her own.

왜 나는 밖에 나가면 안 되는 거예요?
The outside world is a dangerous place filled with horrible, selfish people.
바깥세상은 끔찍하고 이기적인 사람들로 가득 찬 위험한 곳이란다.
You must stay here, where you're safe. 

너가 안전하게 있을 수 있는 이곳에 있어야만 해.
Do you understand, Flower? 

이해하겠니, 꽃님아?
Yes, Mommy. 

네, 엄마.
