When my daughter was about 36 months old.
우리 딸이 36개월 되던 무렵,
I came across content about mom-taught English lessons on social media.
우연히 SNS에서 엄마표 영어에 대한 콘텐츠를 접했다.
Ever since then, I’ve been reading aloud two or three English books to my daughter every night at bedtime.
그 이후로 매일 밤 자기 전에 딸에게 영어 책을 두세 권씩 소리 내어 읽어 주고 있다.
I’ve read books to her dozens of times.
어떤 책은 수십 번 반복하여 읽어 주었다.
4 months since then, my daughter can’t read yet, but she pretends to.

Mom-taught English refers to moms seeing the tone for kids to learn English.
엄마표 영어는 엄마가 아이에게 영어를 배울 수 있는 환경을 마련해 주는 것을 말한다.
Kids can pick up a language with little resistance when they are young.
아이들은 어릴 때 언어를 거부감 없이 습득할 수 있기 때문에,
Moms can help them experience English from a young age.
아이들이 어린 나이에 영어를 접할 수 있게 도와주는 것이다.
Moms can read English picture books to their kids, or turn on audiobooks.
엄마가 아이에게 영어 그림책을 읽어 주거나 오디오북을 들려 주면 된다.
And when the kids are a little older, they can be shown English video content so that they can get accustomed to the language.
그리고 아이가 조금 더 크면 영어 영상물을 보여 줌으로써 영어에 더욱 친숙해질 수 있게 하면 된다.
